Fellow Penners:

What a show we had (August 2), 341 teams! Who would have thought that we would have our biggest show ever in August, the hottest month?

I apologize to all the members for not ordering enough cattle. Rick, John McLain, and I all discussed the situation a few days earlier and all agreed the show would probably be small, so we only ordered three herds of cattle. Boy were we wrong! This will not happen again. There will be four herds of cattle at all our remaining shows.

Even though the heat was extreme, everyone was patient and I felt the show went well under the circumstances. When you have the opportunity, please thank our directors for their hard work. Remember these people are not paid and they work hard for your enjoyment. Also we have several members who help set up pens, hold gates, etc. All this makes our association work.

With the good shows we are having we will have a great finals. More details will be out soon on the money and prizes for the finals. I will see you September 6. Ride hard, ride safe!
